We were dining at home last night. All nine of us huddled around the table for a tasty dinner of BBQ chicken, rice, baked beans and garlic bread. As you know, have seven kids ages 16, 15, 11, 11, twins who are 9 and a four-year-old.  We have three boys, and four girls.

So as you might imagine, it's LOUD at our table, no matter what we do or say to discourage LOUD talking.  Our eldest son, as you might know, is also an Aspie.  He's very, very smart.  Very smart.

And so it goes, dear ole @DaddyClaxton had himself one heck of a headache last night.  Truthfully, my eyes were weeping, the pain in my upper left quadrant was so bad.  So, mid-way through dinner, I just stopped eating, put my hand to the pain-stricken area and tried to keep from breaking out in tears.

So what does our Aspie son ask, in his usual baritone, over-bearing voice?  "Dad, do you need a Viagra or something?"

I'm the only one at the table who didn't laugh.  My bride, immediately began laughing.  As did our 15-year-old son.  Then the eldest began to laugh realizing he hadn't asked the right question.  My daughters laughed because everyone else was laughing.  And then R. asked the question again.  "Do you need a Viagra or something?"

I didn't laugh.  It wasn't that it wasn't a funny question.  Even R. said, "he must really be hurting because he isn't laughing."

I'm thankful my daughters, ages 11 and 9 and 9 and 4 didn't understand the question.

I had a head ache last night, but not the one my eldest would have prescribed medicine for.  Anyone else need a Viagra?  How about some Excedrin or a Hydrocodone instead?

Out of the mouths of babes.

I know exactly what you mean! I also have 7 kids (although ours is a blended family and not all mine biologically) and the headaches the kids can create are outrageous! Your son might have been onto something, though – they say that sex is a great cure for headaches…LOL!
