One of the Blogs I frequently check for Dads and Moms issues is Dr. Helen's. Today she's remembering a great song from the 70s–Billy Don't Be A Hero. Among my 5,000-plus songs in iTunes, this is one of my all time favorites. My brother actually bought the record–which I still have–when we were on our way from Northern Michigan (K.I. Sawyer AFB) to Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL for Squadron Officer's School. Just thinking about the song triggers thoughts about watching them on Bandstand, seems like they were out at the beach doing the song. Nonetheless, my kids have taken an appreciation for the song, too. Kari, laughs, too, at the thought of how many songs I have from the early 70s where there was a flute in the lead. A flute in pop music. Sweet and innocent, I was. (That's an inside, dated reference for you music trivia buffs.) Thanks, Helen, for the stirred memory.
But you're not doing what Heywood said on the flip side…..
