First of all, I've been educated that dying from an OD on Tylenol is not a great way to go. Supposed to cause liver failure and be quite painful. So for those of you out there thinking that Bruce Ivins should have suffered a little, perhaps he did.
Second, I have two pretty good friends who are traveling these days; one through the northwest and into Canada and one headed to Israel to take a group. Please keep them in thoughts and prayers as they travel.
Third, 17 days now until school starts in Texas. Hang on, Kari, it will go by fast.
Fourth, it rained here in Dallas today. There were storm clouds on the horizon last night, but a nice gentle rain falling here on the way into work this morning. As I write, it's 77 degrees outside. Nice.
Fifth, I'm ready for a quiet weekend at home. I've got a few ideas about how to spruce up the house a bit and will find plenty of honey do work to keep my occupied. And, I'm still working on a couple highly-creative projects that just are keeping my brain tickled. I'm loving it.
Sixth, before I found my wonderful bride, I was doing Divorce Care classes at my church in order to help others who were living in the tornado of a divorce. They are doing some great things now with the program and I've been asked to write a little about them. Here goes.
For starters, they're looking at doing a divorced person/single parent conference at our church. They are soliciting topics for meaningful sessions. They're looking at offering a financial session on helpful hints, how to plan, what not to fall for, straight talk about the financial fear you deal with amidst all the changes, and that lingers afterwards.
Dinners for Dads–one of the original concepts I had for this site: Aimed at dads who find themselves now having to cook for themselves and/or the kids. The goal is easy and nutritious. (I'm sure just writing that here will produce cat calls from some.)
There will be some counseling, "design on a dime," legal issues, and "tool time for mom."
If you want to learn more or send some ideas to one of the coordinators, send them here.
Okay, time to get busy doing what I'm supposed to be doing.
