My great friend in Nashville, Jennifer Kraus of NewsChannel 5 was posting on FaceBook today about being in search of gas in North Central Tennessee.  Here in the Dallas area, we've been paying $3.55 near my house and have not had the first line our outage.  Why is there a problem in Nashville?

Leave it to Jennifer to get to the bottom of it:

Jennifer Kraus at 12:47pm September 19
spokesman Jim Lott gave this explanation for the gasoline shortage in
the Nashville area. He says the gasoline that comes here flows from
Houston through the Colonial Pipeline. He has been told the pipeline is
only running at 25 percent capacity. He was told the capacity in the
pipeline will improve as conditions in Houston improve. He doe
NOT expect a whole lot of improvement over the weekend. However, Lott
also says barges are being loaded in the Gulf of Mexico to help out and
they will be heading this way. But, as you might imagine, that will
take some time. Anybody got a scooter I can borrow to get to work this
