It's now official.  Christmas 2009 is here.  The official Claxton Family Christmas Fire is not lit.  Typically, I don't let it go out until the night I go back to work.  The ashes get so bright red they're warm all the nights thru.   Christmas fire 2009

The traditional Italian Beef is in the crockpot for dinner tonight.  I've got rolls and chips to go with them, along with a brand new summer sausage, two sharp cheddar cheese balls, and Ricky's favorite Lil Smokies that will get bathed in bbq sauce and devoured like non of the kids have eaten all year long.

This morning I also found Ashleigh a Ken Doll–she wanted one of him getting married, but I found a Muskateers doll and we're going to say it's the same thing.

The stockings  all are hung.  And the best thing of all, it's supposed to start snowing here in the Dallas area in the next couple of hours.  I heard the police talking at breakfast this morning that overpasses and bridges are supposed to ice over into the night areas as the low here is supposed to be 22 degrees.

All the more reason to enjoy our fireplace this weekend.

Updates on the weater will come as it begins to snow.

So you are going to have a white Christmas in TX? How exciting! When was the last time you had a white Christmas?
Happy Holidays to your family! I look forward to meeting you in a few weeks. Give your wife a hug for me. I have not met her in person, but I’ve been following her blog and she is a sweetheart! Hope to meet her in person some day!!

I grew up in Northern Michigan and Northern Indiana. It was 1978 I think since my last White Christmas. I think in Montgomery, AL we got an inch or so one December that was a night or two before Christmas. I miss White Christmases. I was so lucky being a kid and living up where it snows a ton in the winter and often lament that I so don’t want to live in the South. But I’ve learned I must grow where I’m planted and for now, it’s Dallas.
