The New York Times is reporting a management shift at BP claiming that CEO Tony Hayward is being relieved of the day-to-day operations of the Gulf oil spill and being allowed more time to “focus on the entire company.”
Alas, after yesterday’s testimony before Congress, he’s going to get his wish; He’s going to get his life back.
Now, if we could only get our Gulf Coast back. Thanks for all you’ve done, Tony. Looks like you didn’t make it to the Florbama, Lambert’s Cafe or any of the other places I suggested. Sounds like before you head back across the pond, you might have a little more free time.
Of course, the irony of this all is that Carl-Henric Svanberg, the chairman of BP’s board of directors, told the British television network Sky News on Friday, “It is clear Tony has made remarks that have upset people.”
Like his “little people” remarks weren’t just as obtuse.
